Questions
What people ask us.
Is the grant scheme still open?
Yes. Homes are still being approved and remediated under the Enhanced Defective Concrete Blocks Grant Scheme. For a home in Donegal you apply to Donegal County Council.
Will the grant cover my rebuild?
Most of the time, yes: the majority of our defective block rebuilds are done within the grant amount. Our QS prices your works plan line by line, so you can see where you stand before anything starts.
How much is the grant?
Up to €462,000 per home. It pays for the approved works at set rates per square metre, up to that cap. It is paid in stages against invoices your engineer certifies, up to 90%, and the last 10% once the Certificate of Remediation is signed.
Do you work with my engineer?
Yes. We work closely with homeowners, engineers and other industry professionals. Your engineer certifies the works for each grant payment and signs the Certificate of Remediation with us at the end.
Do you do semi-detached homes as well as detached?
Yes. The photos above are semi-detached and detached homes we've remediated, two of them in Letterkenny.
Do you ask for a deposit?
No. No deposits and no upfront costs.
Can you price my works plan?
Yes. Email your remedial works plan to darren@doncontracts.ie and our QS will price it line by line.
